Patrick Leger

Title: One of the Flock






















I really enjoy Patrick Leger's editorial and book illustrations. This one is a bit of a departure from his usual style (which involves retro colors and motifs reminiscent of pulp fiction series from the 50s). I like it, though, maybe because of the enigmatic, piercing black eye, and the ambivalent expression on that sharp beak.

Ilija Basicevic-Bosilj

While foraging for information about Ilija Bašičević Bosilj, I came upon this remarkable biography: 
Ilija Bašičević Bosilwas born in 1895. in Šid. Vojvodina. He worked as a farmer until he was 62. He produced his first gouaches and drawings in 1957. and from 1958. started working in oil paint. He died in Šid in 1972.
