My sister just started doing this thing when she really likes something, or when something proceeds really elegantly, like butter, no hitches. She makes this noise, "MMMMmm", like she just bit a delicious bite of strawberry rhubarb pie and wants to yell about it but still has her mouth full. It's forceful, though, this sound... it punches the air. Hollis Brown Thornton's art makes me want to make that noise. If you know what I mean.

This project is amazing. I read about it on Heading East, my favorite blog, and had to add my enthusiasm. Margareta Kern took a series of photographs of Croatian women wearing the outfits that they wish to be buried in. I love projects that combine art and anthropology so neatly and fascinatingly.
